Congratulations to Jolyon Martin on winning Cambridge University Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2017. Jolyon has worked hard to combine his PhD research with innovation and entrepreneurship and we're delighted that his efforts have been formally recognised.

This year Jolyon has given a talk and presented a poster at the Immunology 2017 conference in Washington DC, hosted by the American Association of Immunologists. He has also given a talk and presented a poster at the Canine and Feline Genetics and Genomics conference at the University of Minnesota.

Jolyon is a 2013 cohort PhD student in the BBSRC DTP Programme, working on building a platform to generate therapeutic antibodies for animals. He works in the lab of Professor Allan Bradley at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. As part of the DTP Programme he completed rotation projects with Dr James Ajioka in Pathology and Dr Finian Leeper in Chemistry and undertook an internship at Horizon Discovery Ltd, a biotechnology company, where he gained a deeper understanding of central and corporate operations.
