Congratulations to Megan Eldred, 2013 cohort PhD student in the BBSRC DTP Programme, for publishing the paper Self-organising aggregates of zebrafish retinal cells for investigating mechanisms of neural lamination in Development.
The paper was also published in Development's special issue on organoids.
Megan works in the lab of Professor Bill Harris in the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience (PDN) at the University of Cambridge. As part of the DTP Programme she completed a rotation project with Professor Roger Keynes in PDN and undertook an internship with Science Magazine, where she gained first-hand experience in the publishing industry. Megan is also the 2013 cohort Student Representative and, as such, reports to the DTP Management Committee regarding any student concerns or suggestions.
During her PhD Megan rowed competitively for her college and won blades in 2015 when she was President of her college Boat Club. As Treasurer she managed her college's May Ball budget and last year she helped organise her Department's annual research symposium.
