Competition for admission to the University of Cambridge graduate programme is competitve. The BBSRC DTP Programme, like all Departments in the Graduate School of Life Sciences, applies the entry requirements stipulated by Graduate Admissions.

Once you have decided on the studentship you should make an application via the University of Cambridge Applicant Portal


UK and EEA students who meet the UK residency requirements will be eligible for a full BBSRC studentship (Fees and Maintenance). Students from EEA countries who do not meet the residency requirements may still be eligible for a fees-only award.

EEA students eligible for a fees-only award can be put forward for University-wide funding schemes, such as:

Cambridge Overseas & Commonwealth Trusts

Gates Cambridge Trust

Vice-Chancellor's Awards
