Doctoral researchers share their work and discuss research posters.
The Cambridge Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) and the Norwich Research Park Doctoral Training Partnership (NRPDTP) welcomed doctoral researchers, academic supervisors and industry partners to their first joint annual conference on 29 June 2026 at the John Innes Conference Centre, Norwich Research Park.
The inaugural event brought together participants from both partnerships to share best practice, showcase the value of CASE partnerships, and strengthen links between academia and industry. The conference opened with a welcome from Professor Anne Graham (NRPDTP) and Professor Ross Waller (Cambridge Biosciences DTP).
The programme featured CASE partnership presentations from students, supervisors and industry partners, a panel discussion on industry engagement and career pathways, interactive workshops on transferable skills and communication, and a networking lunch with poster presentations. Delegates also heard a keynote lecture from Dr Steven Harborne (Sygnature Discovery), who shared insights into translating biological research into medicines from an industry perspective.
The conference marked an important milestone in the collaboration between the two DTPs, providing a valuable forum for knowledge exchange, networking and strengthening partnerships across the bioscience research community. Next year the event will be held on the 28th June in Cambridge.
