Congratulations to David Willer on Winning the Best Student Oral Presentation at the European Congress of Malacology

Congratulations to David Willer for being awarded the prize for the best student oral presentation at the European Congress of Malacology. The conference was held in Krakow, Poland, from 10-14 September 2017. David was awarded an original piece of artwork, a cash prize, membership of the Malacological Society and a subscription to the Journal of Molluscan Studies for his talk entitled Improving productivity of bivalve mollusc aquaculture using microencapsulated products.


David is a 2016 cohort PhD student in the BBSRC DTP Programme. He is currently researching development of microencapsulated diets for shellfish, echinoderms and fish fry in the lab of Dr David Aldridge in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge. As part of the BBSRC DTP Programme David completed rotation projects in Zoology and in the Department of Plant Sciences with Dr Andrew Tanentzap.
