last modified Sep 20, 2013 09:14 AM

One of our BBSRC DTP students, Naomi Moris, who is continuing her PhD studies in the Martinez Arias Group, Department of Genetics, has won the prize for the graphic non-fiction section in the EuroStemCell stem cell writing competition for 2013.

Her entry, 'Getting the Ball Rolling' explains how scientists can use stem cells to answer fundamental questions.

Edward Ross on Get the Ball Rolling:
"This piece was a really good example of the communicative power of comics. It took a complex idea and explained it clearly and in an entertaining way, using both text and visuals to tell the story. A great example of science communication and a nice comic too!"

Further details of the competition can be found here.
