Cambridge Biosciences BBSRC DTP

Cambridge Biosciences BBSRC DTP

(Please note that the programme is not recruiting for entry in 2020)

The BBSRC (Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council) through UKRI (United Kingdom Research and Innovation) provide funding for a number of DTPs (Doctoral Training Partnerships) at Universities throughout the UK.

BBSRC DTPs provide PhD training in research areas relevant to the remit and strategic priority areas of the BBSRC. They also provide a breadth of professional development and training opportunities to enhance students' capability and develop the world-class, highly skilled workforce the UK needs for its future.

The University of Cambridge is delighted to be able to offer a number of funded* 4 year PhD studentships through a grant received from the BBSRC. These studentships can take place at a number of department and partner institutes.

Cambridge Biosciences SBS DTP

The School of Biological Sciences, in collaboration with a number of University of Cambridge departments, institutes and Cambridge colleges, have come together to create funding packages to support students in the biosciences. These SBS DTP studentships offer the opportunity to study for a 4-year funded PhD degree and undertake professional development and training opportunities, alongside BBSRC DTP funded students. The first cohort of SBS DTP students were admitted in October 2020.
