Project Title:
Genetic control of wheat milling and baking quality
Project Summary:
Nick's PhD project investigates the genetic architecture of milling and baking, as well as nutritional quality, and how prediction of these traits can be applied in a UK wheat breeding programme. Various quantitative genetics approaches including QTL mapping using an 8-parent MAGIC population and developing genomic prediction that incorporate information across the DSV UK wheat breeding programme together with environmental covariates incorporate genotype by environment interactions.
