Comparing Costs of Contrasting Livestock Systems: How do Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Antimicrobial Use and Animal Welfare of UK and Brazilian Pig Production vary with Yield?
Project Summary:
I am an interdisciplinary biologist focused on identifying optimal ways of farming for the climate, biodiversity, animal welfare, antimicrobial use and emerging infectious disease risk. Importantly, while tradeoffs between these factors are typically deemed inevitable, my research suggests this is not neccessarily the case.
