Every summer the BBSRC DTP holds an annual Symposium that allows students to showcase their research, hear about other research happening in the University and beyond, and network with industry representatives.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, in 2021 the Symposium was held online via Zoom over two days on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July 2021.

The Symposium also had a Careers Panel with representatives from Industry, Policy making, Consultancy and beyond, discussing career opportunities available to PhD students outside of academia.
The student talks are another very important component of the Symposium and a total of 12 DTP students gave talks, representing each of the BBSRC’s 5 core strategic priorities.
