Greg Mellers, one of our BBSRC DTP students from our first cohort completed his placement in industry (PIPS) at Oxford Scientific Films. The programme he was involved with, Carol Klein's Plant Odysseys, is due to air on Monday 27th July on BBC2 at 7pm with three subsequent episodes also on Monday evenings. It’s a fascinating series about the origins of some of our most well-loved flower species.

Presenter Carol Klein explores the biological and botanical history of four iconic plants – including the rose and the water lily. She’ll trace each plant’s epic journey through time, looking at how millions of years of evolution have conspired to create unique characteristics, and how man has bent these traits to his will and the vagaries of fashion.

The series is also available on BBC iPlayer - Carol Klein's Plant Odysseys
